A casual, comfortable little gem hidden away in Bay Shore, Siam Lotus is bursting with flavors from their authentic Thai cuisine. It is decorated in shades of pink and green like the lotus flower, and has original paintings depicting Thai culture and scenery. It is owned and operated by the Poom family, and Mr. Poom doesn't let a detail get by him. He personally shops and chooses each and every ingredient that goes into the delicious food that his wife cooks from the recipes that she brought over from her homeland. Daughter Siri, who, trained by her father, makes sure the friendly wait staff is helpful and attentive, manages the front of the house. All the dishes are prepared with great expertise and care and have unique flavors. Presentation is very important here - carrots are cut into butterflies and radishes look like flowers. You can order your food as spicy as you like it, or not spicy at all. Each dish has its own Thai herbs and comes with a dipping sauce. These homemade sauces are so delicious and have become so popular that diners order them "to go".
